PROGRAMS

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library

After 13 years of open registration, the Rockingham County Partnership for Children is unable to accept NEW registrations for Dolly Parton's Imagination Library (DPIL) in Rockingham County as of Friday, January 31st.

If your child is already registered and receiving a book, they will continue receiving a book each month from DPIL until age 5.

For updates on DPIL registration, please check back here-

The NC Partnership for Children and the Smart Start Network are working hard to secure enough funding to resume DPIL registrations.

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library offers any child, age birth-five, in Rockingham County a free, developmentally appropriate book once per month from the time they are born until their 5th birthday.

Once children are enrolled in the program, books are mailed to their home each month.

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library encourages reading along with parent and child interaction, ultimately helping children enter kindergarten with established pre-literacy skills critical to later reading success.
